Earlier change of venue of Kochi Tuskers Kerala

The owners said they had earlier written to the IPL governing council to shift the venue from Kochi as they were uncertainties about getting Kochi as a permanent venue, which had invited widespread criticism. But now the issue has been solved as the Kerala Cricket Association has got the stadium leased from the the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) for five years.

The owners have requested the Kochi corporation to give a 100% waiver of entertainment tax. The corporation has agreed for 50% waiver as of now, and negotiations are going on, he added.

The practise session of the Kochi IPL team will start on 26th of March. The players who are participating in the World Cup would take part in the practise sessions. Team coach Geoff Lawsonis expected to reach Kochi by the end of the week.
